Members will be able to vote on the new Tentative Collective Bargaining Agreement all day at the BENTE Union office on 1600 Lyell Avenue from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
About two hundred members attended the union meeting last night, where BENTE President Dan DiClemente thanked everyone for attending the Rally for Respect at Central Office.
"Your participation was key to getting us a contract and without it, we would still be bargaining or at impasse." he said. "This contract was accomplished as a result of everyone coming together. "It was not as the result of what the Negotiating Committee did, or what the Executive Board did, or what the Stewards did, or what one individual member did. It's about what all of us did, together."
The Board of Education is scheduled to ratify the Agreement this evening at their regular meeting. If ratified by the Membership and the Board of Education, Payroll will be working to get the increases in the first paycheck in December and the retroactive pay for the second pay period in December. DiClemente thanked the workers in Payroll for their diligence.
